Nintendo Direct! Are You Not Entertained??

All I know is I'm suddenly grateful I haven't played the new South Park game OR Okami (I know!) so I can finally enjoy these at last on the wonderful Switch. Otherwise what I'm most hyped for is Octopath Traveller, which was a really cool demo, and I might even buy the Crash Bandicoot game AGAIN so I have it on handheld. There were a couple other announcements that pleased me as well.

As I've said to other people, I think the lowest form of life in the universe are the people who spam the word "Smash!" in the Nintendo chat during the Directs. Well, these people were finally rewarded with the announcement of a new Smash game, coming out this year apparently.

The Splatoon single player content looks good, but is $20. Maybe it's pretty robust, I don't know. I need to check out that game, never played it.

Finally, I'm thoroughly hyped for that Mario Tennis game. I love Mario Sports game, and this one looks like tons of fun. Now if we could just get that Mario football game....

Dont remind me! I got Okami on PS4 and now I have regrets*Actually my BF has regrets, he is the one who bought it for me LOL*! I dont know whether to just halt playing it and restart on Switch or just do a new playthrough on Switch. I am though getting South Park again on Switch. Ill gladly do another playthrough of that and play the DLC stuff fresh on it.

Im actually excited to get Splatoon 2 again now. I have been yelling that they need to make the Octolings playable and we are finally getting that. Im also buying Crash on Switch. I waited once that rumor was going around about it releasing it on other platforms.

I think overall this was a good last direct before E3. We might get a more focused direct before that on a specfic game but I think as far as annoucement type ones that was the final one till E3 gets here. I just wish we would have seen something about Yoshi :(

I got a refund from taxes this year and I contemplated getting a Switch. I just can't do it right now though. Not until I'm back at work full time again.

they were on sale for $225 somewhere recently. They'll drop in price eventually.

I jumped on XBO and PS4 when they were 299. I was a little more secure then though. I'd love to pick up a Wii-U right now. Probably $150. Should be $99.

SMASH!

(sorry)

I hope you get a chance to play Okami someday. it was my Game of the Year for 2006.

I'm looking forward to Octopath Traveler, too.  I just hope they don't bog it down with stuff and I have enough time to play it!

20 bucks isn't too bad for the Splatoon content, as long as it's a lot of it.  Honestly I'd rather they just make an extra game called "Splatoon Adventures" or something that's just a single player game and plays a lot like Ratchet and Clank or something.

I'm not too big on tennis video games, because most seem like just glorfied Pong clones to me.  So I may skip out on Mario Tennis.  Really the only tennis video game I got somewhat into was SEGA Superstars Tennis.  Ulala was in that one.

I'm definitely going to play Okami this time, at last.

I was a bit mixed and split on everything as a whole. Octopath Traveller is a day one buy for me (Special Edition Baby!). I loved the demo and I'm looking for another RPG after finishing the main campaign of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and waiting for the rest of the season pass to come out. The switch is certainly getting plenty of rpgs and that's a good thing, because it keeps me occupied. Travis Strikes Again looks pretty sweet and that's all I need. Looks like it'll be fun. Crash is a plesant surprise to see it land on a Nintendo system as is South Park. I hadn't expected that. Nintendo is really going for an all out approach with both casual and more young adult games.

The bad is the ports. I do love Okami and it is HD...I'm hoping it's $20 or lower like it is everywhere else or I might skip out until then. Captain Toad Treasure Tracker is disappointing. At this point they might as well port the entire Wii U library and have some sort of Wii U apology buyback program because at this point what's even left that's exclusive to the system? I'm also salty about Hyrule Warriors....I spent $80 for that stuff...now it's cheaper with everything on it.

Also $3 for buying digital vs physical is a crap reward system. The system is already lacking in memory for games if you want to buy a bunch like myself. I'm also into the sleek and small cases as well as the fact that physical is still my preferred method of buying games. Call me old fashioned, but I like to keep the games I play on the off chance I want to revisit them.

I'm on the fence on some other titles. I'm not up on Undertale lore so I'm not sure what's so special about it. Dark Souls would probably anger me and I don't want to hate more games than I already do. Mario Tennis Aces looks fun, but after Ultra Smash for Wii U I'm hesitant. I'm hoping it's better and brings me back to the super fun Mario Power Tennis days of the N64 and Gamecube.

Still Smash is exciting news. Maybe all these reveals will mean something. Perhaps Crash in Smash. Bomberman, Rayman, etc. Let the rampant speculation commence!

Yeah normally I don't mind ports.  I may not rebuy them, but I don't mind them.  But I hate how they're re-releasing Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, a game I loved on the Wii U.  I don't want to rebuy the game again just for a few Odyssey levels.  Just make a freaking sequel, Nintendo!

And also, I only enjoyed Hyrule Warriors as a co-op game, and it didn't take very long to beat that way.  So now that I'm not playing co-op games as much anymore, I don't think I want to rebuy the game again, even if it has all the DLC.  Although I would do that if Smash was a port.  I'm just a bit wishy washy, I suppose.

I understand what you're saying about ports, but I didn't buy a lot of Wii U games, so I don't mind the idea for selfish reasons. I think the port I want most of all though is Skyward Sword.

Splatoon seems like it would be a lot of fun to play and having extra content for $20 doesn't seem too bad.

Mario Tennis looks really good, and if its like the previous ones folks are in for a treat. Madden needs to be on the Switch.
