Resident Evil: Code Veronica, was released for the Dreamcast in 2000. It was a sort of sequel to Resident Evil 2 and 3, and features Claire Redfield battling Umbrella Corp zombies once again, at an island in the South Pacific, and then in a research base in Antarctica. Unlike the other Resident Evil games, which used pre-rendered backgrounds (which I like), this game used 3D environments, obviously because of the power of the Dreamcast console. It's a good looking game for its time.

I got a Dreamcast basically at launch, and this was one of the games I played later on it. I was living in San Francisco, but in 2000 I had gotten a good job and was making a lot more money, and me and my two friends rented a house in the Sunset, which is an area in San Francisco near Golden Gate Park and the beach.

The living room of the house was right next to my one roommate's room, and he had to go to bed early for his job, so I mostly played this game with ear phones on, and with all the lights turned off. It was a pretty creepy experience.

I never finished it though, not being able to defeat a boss monster that I played over and over again. I realized I needed more health and ammo, but didn't have a save earlier in the game anymore. And that was that.

But it was a fun game. Capcom released a remaster for PS3 and Xbox in 2011, and I think you can get that on newer consoles too. I'm not sure if it's available on Switch though. I would enjoy playing it again.

Code Veronica seemed to be considered to be the real RE3 back in the day, not only by gamers but by Capcom itself. These days, though, I see RE3 getting a lot more respect.

you know I never hear talk of Capcom remaking this like they did 2 and 3. Undecided

I got a Dreamcast for Christmas in 1999, right after I had graduated college.  It was kind of a surprise because I didn't ask for one, but I'm glad I got it.

yeah I gor a Dreamcast for Xmas that year too. I remember playing Sonic Adventure a lot and not knowing what I thought of it.

I thought Sonic Adventure was pretty good for the time.  It was like playing a cheesy Saturday morning cartoon and they got the feel of being on vacation right.  Unfortunately, the game hasn't aged well.  But it was cool back then.  But then, I'm not the biggest Sonic fan and I like games that a lot of Sonic fans hate, like Sonic Spinball and Sonic 3-D Blast, so what do I know?

Knowing when to save is so crucial in these games.

I never like the controls in RE games but I keep trying them because everyone loves them so much. I'll try this one if I come across a copy.

I'm pretty sure they fixed those in the remasters.

Nope, every version currently available has the same tank controls that my brain cannot understand or use.

It took me about 15 tries just to make it through the graveyard at the beginning of the game. I would wind up spinning in circles instead of running away.

I had the DC version and bought every version up to the PS4 version. None of them are actually remastered, they are just ports of the original game and the PS4 version looks like crap.
