Hey folks, I’ve got a big announcement to make!  This August, I will have been writing video game reviews semi-professionally for 20 years!  Yup, it all started back in 1996.  I bet most game reviewers don’t even last that long!  So in honor of that, I decided to write an article about it, and share with you all how I got started, what I’ve done in the past 20 years, and some of my highlights and favorite memories.  Oh, and I’d like to apologize in advance if this article sounds a little too self-absorbed and ‘braggy,’ as it is all about me.  I promise I won’t be like this all the time in the future.  But I figured that 20 years really IS a reason to celebrate, so I hope you don’t mind this, just this once.

Got a pretty good selection of games I’ve recently reviewed over at GamerDad.com, so here’s another blog with links and such.  And some of these in this batch are pretty weird and kooky!  I hope you get a chance to check them out and maybe even post a comment or two here or there.  I appreciate it!  Let’s see what we got this time!

For the longest time, I didn’t own Sony’s newest handheld, the PS Vita.  Which may seem strange at first, because I loved the PSP, Sony prior handheld.  In fact, other than the Neo Geo Pocket Color, the PSP was the only other handheld I bought that wasn’t made by Nintendo!  There were lots of PSP games I loved to play: Loco Roco and its sequel, Ys Seven, Half-Minute Hero, Gurumin, Mega Man Powered Up, and many more.  But the Vita just didn’t have as many games that I wanted to play, or at least not enough to warrant purchasing one.  But after a few years they’ve built up enough games that interest me, and since I couldn’t think of anything to ask my family to get me for Christmas, I just threw a Vita on my list and to my surprise I got one late last year as a present!  So here’s my impressions on the Vita and some games I got for it (probably a little too late, but hey, better later than never).

Can you believe this year is already half over?  What I like to do this time of year is write about the best games of the year so far.  Everyone is all excited over recent E3 announcements, and most of the really good titles come out during the Christmas season at the tail end of the year, and the games that come out earlier tend to be forgotten.  So this is where those games get their due.

Finding Dory was recently released in theaters, and it’s a sequel to Finding Nemo, which is one of my favorite Pixar films.  So it got me to thinking about my other Pixar favorites, and also Pixar movies that I didn’t like as much.  So I made a list of my top four favorite and least favorite Pixar films.  Why four?  No reason other than that it was harder to narrow it down to five. I had four distinct ones in each category but after that it wasn’t as clear.  So I stuck with four for each.

Well another E3 has come and gone, and this was the first year in a long time that I wasn’t quite as interested in it as I usually am.  But there was still enough stuff that I could write a blog about, so here it is!

A new Kirby game was released on 3DS recently, called Kirby: Planet Robobot.  In this game, Kirby can pilot a robot mech to smash enemies and solve puzzles.  So that got me to thinking about other mech games that I like, so here’s a blog about them!

So a few days ago I beat Ys: Memories of Celceta on my PS Vita.  It was a fun game, but not near as good as Ys Seven on PSP.  One of the reasons why I liked Ys Seven so much was it had a fantastic and memorable soundtrack.  One of the best I’ve heard in recent memory.  The Vita Ys game wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t as memorable.  So now I’m going to try and do something I’ve never done before here: write a blog and post videos of music from Ys Seven that you can listen to.  (Yeah this is kind of a filler blog)  I hope I can get it to work!  Here goes nothing!

So my computer conked out on me after 5 to 6 years of service.  I guess that’s pretty good, but I do wish they’d last longer, especially considering how much you pay for them.  So now I’m writing this blog on my new computer, getting all used to Windows 10 and new programs and such.  You know how it goes.  Hopefully this one will last me a long time, too.  Anyway, I got a new batch of reviews I’ve written recently over at GamerDad.com.  Please click on the links below and read my reviews and maybe even post a comment or two here or there if you can.  I’d really appreciate it.  You’ll understand why I titled this blog “Bouncy Ninja” in a moment.
