I love classic video game compilations, but you hardly see them anymore.  Most video game companies now just sell their classics separately for you to download.  I guess that makes them more money, but in a way, it’s also kind of sad.  Luckily, SEGA just released a collection of some of their 3-D remakes on the 3DS.  SEGA also sells these remakes separately on the eShop, but now you can play nine of them on a cartridge.  So since I like to go over games in classic compilations, here are all the ones you can play on the SEGA 3-D Classics Collection.  I’ve even reviewed a few of them a couple of years ago that were released separately, so when I come across those, I’ll make a link to my original reviews in case you want to read further!

You know, there are a lot of Nintendo franchises that I really like, such as Kirby, Zelda, Animal Crossing, Metroid, etc.  And there are some that I don’t like as much, but I don’t hate either.  Star Fox is one of those franchises.  But for as indifferent as I am about Star Fox, I’ve ended up playing every game in the series, so I guess I at least like it a little bit.  So in honor of the recent release of Star Fox Zero, I thought I’d go through all the Star Fox games and give my quick impressions and personal experiences with each one.  I’m not really rating each of these games on this list, although if I had to say, the first three here would be my favorites.  So hop into your Arwing and let’s take an intergalactic tour of all the Star Fox games!

Hey folks, I have another batch of reviews and articles I’ve written over at GamerDad.com lately, including my articles on the National Videogame Museum!  If you read my April Fools’ blog from a few weeks ago, you know that I’ve been volunteering at the newly opened National Videogame Museum in Frisco, TX, and I also wrote some articles about them at GamerDad.com.  So if you read any of my reviews, please read those especially, as I put a little extra effort into them.  They’re a lot like my PAX and E3 articles, because the museum is nearly as good as those places.  So if you can, please click on the links, read the reviews, post comments here or there, and maybe even click that ‘Like’ button.  I’d really appreciate it!  OK, let’s begin!

Nintendo and Namco have worked together a lot in the past.  Namco’s good at making arcade baseball games, so Nintendo had them do some Mario baseball titles.  Namco’s Taiko drum music games were a hit in Japan, so Nintendo had them do Donkey Konga.  And Namco also is known for racing and fighting games, so they helped Nintendo with the arcade Mario Karts and recent Smash Bros. games.  So when Nintendo wanted to make a Pokémon fighting game, Namco was up to the task again, since they are known for fighters like Tekken.  In fact, that’s why the Pokémon fighter is called Pokken, as a combination of Pokémon and Tekken.  So I thought in this blog we’d take a quick look at the game and check out which Pokémon you can play as!

Hey folks, I wanted to share with you all some big news.  There is a video game museum opening tomorrow, April 2, in Frisco, TX, and I’m volunteering there to help out!  I hope that if you are ever visiting North Texas around the Dallas and Fort Worth areas, that you can come and visit!  You might even see ME!

All right folks, it’s Spring Training Time, and I’ve got a regimen of reviews for you to read that’ll get you into shape!  If you read these reviews I’ve recently written and maybe even post a comment or two here or there, I guarantee that you’ll be super-buff in no time and be able to pick up a whole car with just one hand (well it might be a Hot Wheels car).  So let’s get started, and thanks for reading my reviews!

I got a PS Vita for Christmas this past year.  There are enough games on it that interest me now, but I guess it’s a little late since nobody is making new games for the Vita hardly anymore.  But one of the games I wanted for the Vita was Super Monkey Ball: Banana Splitz.  Luckily since it’s been out for so long, I was able to get it from Amazon for only 12 bucks!  Which is good considering it’s not much different from past Monkey Ball titles, and they’ve been declining in quality anyway.  But the first two Monkey Ball titles on the GameCube were great, so I always like to give the series a chance anyway, if the price is right.  While the main game has you rolling around a monkey in a ball through mazes and obstacles, many of the Monkey Ball titles have fun mini-games, too.  Banana Splitz included.  So since I like to write about mini-games, here are all the mini-games you can find in Super Monkey Ball: Banana Splitz for Vita.

Project X-Zone 2 is a strategy RPG on the 3DS that stars popular video game characters from companies like SEGA, Bandai Namco, Capcom, and even Nintendo!  Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve taken a look at the characters from each of the game companies in this title, and we’ll conclude this blog series by going over the characters on the Capcom side!
