Chasin' Them Rewards Points

I just love chasin' MS rewards points and Game Pass rewards points for online MS bucks at the end of every month. $10 bucks worth. I usually do that before joining my friend in playing whatever he's playing, which right now it nothing but Minecraft. I also played during the Eagles football game while my friend watched it. I've totally lost my emotion for live sports. I'd rather play Undertale.

Slay the Spire: I still really dig this card-battler-rpg-rogue-like (how's that for hyphenation?). I did the daily challenge and ended up with 600 points. I thought I did well but people are getting like 3000 on the leaderboards. Whatevs, it was fun. I also played a regular round and got through 3 bosses which is a record for me.

Aaero: This is a rhythm game like Rez. You move the cursor according to visual cues that also link up to parts of the music. When you do it accurately you get to hear all parts of the musical composition. You also shoot things. It's cool and I was getting kind of hooked on it when I decided to stop. I'll keep it installed for short bursts of gameplay. I got it free as part of Games with Gold this month.

Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville: I returned to this run-and-gun style version of PvZ and tried to make progress on the single player part of the game. I don't understand my mission at all though, and even after winning a few minigames throughout the town, I didn't seem to have gotten anywhere. So I played some online multiplayer which turned out to be pretty fun. I especially liked the mode that's like Star Wars Battleground's War mode. You are part of a 12 person team which has to make progress invading the areas of another 12 person team. I died a lot and quickly. I think other players had leveled up a lot. I saw a lot of custom characters, some huge, roaming around so maybe I just have to play more and level. Fun for an hour or so and it looks and plays great.

Minecraft: My friend has become a master at herding cows to produce massive amounts of leather to craft books for the library which powers the enchantement table which makes everything easier. It's funny watching him during feeding times. Those cows rush him in a huge herd to get that hay.

I spend my time mostly digging subway systems. I don't know why, but it's kind of fun to dig a tunnel from one town to the next. . . I've clearly played this game too long.

Forza Horizon 4: I needed one achievement in this game to get some rewards points. Trouble is I've played this game a lot and the remaining achievements are ones I had trouble getting before. I finally got some playing Eliminator mode over and over. It's like Fortnight or PuBG (which is it?) for cars. The map shrinks over time and you race against other players when you can find them. If you lose, you're eliminated. I got as far as 16th place of 50 (or 58?) but I unlocked two more achievements. Trouble was though, I couldn't get the MS rewards to recognize them. So I played more and got a third achievement but still no rewards points. Maybe it'll fix itself and be complete next weekend, but we'll see. In any case it was a blast to return to FH4 in preperation for Forza Horizon 5 out in Novemeber. Can. . . not. . . wait!

Undertale: I installed this for rewards points because I couldn't get an achievement in PVZ earlier. The rewards are for playing one of the 10 MS chosen games and getting an achievement (all on Game Pass I believe). I thought I'd played this before but really hadn't. I quickly started getting really into it. It's a very old school looking rpg. Like maybe an old 80s PC style rpg or like original Dragon Quest in a way. It totally plays with your expectations and is very funny. There are puzzles too. Maybe influenced by Zelda 1 a bit as well? I so can't stop thinking about this game now, I think I might get it on PS4 so I can play it at home too (my Xbox is at my friend's place where I do most of my gaming).

Well, that's a weekend.

I've always been curious about that Plants. vs. Zombies FPS game.  Looks colorful.

I should probably try to play Undertale sometime.  I hear so much about it.

I scoffed at the idea of a FPS PvZ game when it began but being forced to play them for rewards points has shown me that they are actually very good and fun games.

I really like Undertale.

Undertale's main inspiration is Earthbound I think. The sequel, Deltarune, has been out for a bit too.

I'm at the final (I think) boss Asgore (I think). F'n killed me. Not sure what I'm going to do now with little cash to buy crabapples. Not exactly wanting to grind for them or the better armor that costs hundreds of whatever currency that it. Fun game though. I'll have too look out for the sequel.
