I've gotten a bit frustrated with my randomized game lists. I've got some great choices upcoming but I can't seem to get to them because of Gems of War. My friend and I have been playing it obsessively for weeks now, maybe it's been months. It never seems to end. So I created a new list of most recent games I'd like to try and I'll see if I can't wrench myself away from Gems with it. Here's my Spring 2022 list (covers months March, April and May):
This is in order of latest to earliest in the season, so some haven't come out yet (if not mentioned, I'll be playing these games on Xbox):
Pac-Man Museum + : Customize your own arcade. I like that. 14 Pac-Man games. Maybe I haven't played one of them?
Chrono Cross: Radical Dreamers Edition: I had this game on PS years and years ago. I didn't play that much of it for some reason, so I'd like to remedy that. The remaster has some gorgeous environments.
Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga: It's going to have a big open galaxy to roam. Should be interesting.
Crusader Kings III: Looks a bit like a Civilization game. I'm going to try and dumb this down as much as possible. I just can't get into massive complexity in games right now.
Tiny Tina's Wonderland: It looks like my friend is just about to purchase this, in which case, I will too so we can play some co-op.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land (Switch): I played the demo for this on Switch and really liked it.
Dark Deity (Switch): I love trying out tactics games. Did I mention SRPG is my favorite acronym?
Dawn of the Monsters: I saw Wayforward listed as the developer. Nuff said. I'm in. Kaiju battles could be fun.
Spellforce III: I've seen the cinematic trailer several times now and it tells me nothing about what you do in this game. This trailer however reveals a cool RTS, so I'm interested.
Triangle Strategy (Switch): I played the demo and except for the very large amount of dialog, I did like the tactics gameplay. It looks really good in that SNES era way too.
Shadow Warrior 3: I will be playing this eventually. Maybe like 1 and 2 it will appear on Game Pass and I won't have to buy it, but I may anyway. SW3 seems to be going a bit more colorful but the gameplay is right out of Doom 2016. I love humor in my FPS too and Shadow Warrior always gives you that.

Oh you know I'm excited for Pac-Man Museum+! I'll definitely write a blog about it when it comes out. I like that it's getting physical versions, too.
I'd like to get the Chrono Cross remaster, but the only thing that interests me in it is the inclusion of Radical Dreamers, a text adventure that was only on the Super Famicom satellite service in Japan. Chrono Cross is really more of a sequel to that than it is Chrono Trigger.
The new LEGO Star Wars game is one of the few LEGO games I didn't get a chance to review! I'll probably wait and ask for it for my birthday or Christmas.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land is very good. It's not my favorite Kirby game, but if HAL's first attempt at a 3D Kirby game turned out this well, the future of 3D Kirby is VERY promising!

Looks like Pac-Man Museum + is coming to Game Pass on its release day, May 27. I'm happy about that. I like it's got a physical release but since I have the Xbox Series S that doesn't have a disc drive, I guess I'll have little use for it. It's kind of annoying I can't rent games from my library for Xbox right now because of that.
A text adventure in Chrono Cross, cool! It's on my Xbox wish list right now.
I have Crusader Kings III on Game Pass right now I hope to get to.
I'm going to try and rent Kirby Forgetten Land from my library when they get it. I keep checking. They usually get a good selection of new games pretty soon after their release date and Kirby sounds like something they would pick up. I can request them to buy it if they don't too. I would like to start a Switch collection though. I may have to start looking at Gamestop sales and whatnot to see what I can pick up. Nintendo games tend to keep their high prices though.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land may earn high marks in my GOTY blogs. But we'll have to see how Pac-Man Museum+ turns out! I just got a Kirby shopping bag from the Club Nintendo web site!

Yeah Club Nintendo is still a thing. It's not as good as it used to be, but it's getting better.
Yeah I can't wait to design my own Pac-Man Museum, too. You know how people talk about which video game world they'd like to live in, and many people say stuff like Hyrule or the Mushroom Kingdom. Well I wouldn't want to live in places like that, they're dangerous! No, I'd like to live in the Namco Museums! Well, either that or the place Ridge Racer is in, or Space Channel 5, because, well, you know...

Well you know how in Rally-X you can blow smoke to slow down the other cars? Does that mean you crop dust the other browsers? :) Sorry, that's just where my mind went.
Did you know that in the Ridge Racer game for PSP, you could play Rally-X while the game loads. And if you got a high enough score during that time playing Rally-X, you could unlock a 3-D version of the Rally-X car to play in the main game! You could even blow smoke out the back to slow down the other racers!
