Every day that I visit the comic store, I browse the bargain bin for interesting single issues from the past. In addition to trying out new stories and characters, I find video game ads. I started scanning (and now photographing) them. Here are the latest ones.

DKCGBhercules

Donkey Kong Country on Game Boy Color. Seems it has new modes, minigames and an extra level. Neat!

Hercules: The Legendary Journeys for N64. Apparently is was an average attempt to do what Ocarina of Time does.

Mummy

The Mummy for Win, Playstation, GBC and Dreamcast, only, the Dreamcast version was cancelled before release. It's based on the first movie in the series starring Brendan Frasier.

StarshipTroopersSyphon

Starship Troopers: Terran Ascendancy a real-time tactics game for Windows based on the movie. It got average reviews.

Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain a third-person shooter for Playstation 2 that also got average reviews. If there is less stealth in this than other Syphon Filter games, I might get into it.

Onimusha

Onimusha 3: Demon Siege for Playstation 2. It got very good reviews. I might have to try it sometime.

feareffect2

Fear Effect 2: Retro Helix for Playstation. I love the cel-shaded graphics. I know I owned the first Fear Effect and maybe even 2 a while back (one of them was a 2-disc PS game). I think I never played them though. I'd like to now. This second game got pretty good reviews. Strange that the series ended here until 2018s Fear Effect Sedna which, although being written by the first game's writer, got terrible reviews. Too bad. I'd like to see the series continue.

I found this Beastie Boys ad for their album To the 5 Buroughs. I used to listen to Neil deGrasse Tyson's podcast and he always used an except from "Ch-Check It Out" on this album to open the show. It got me to ch-check out the Beastie Boys and now I am a fan. Thanks Neil!
