More farming this week in Farm Together 2. Approaching the endgame as regards achievements, but it won't be done quickly. I also picked up two digital games on sale on Xbox, Valiant Hearts: Coming Home and The Bluecoats: North & South.
Farm Together 2 - 211 hours logged so far. I'm at farm level 145. I visited many other people's farms getting the 2500 favors achievement and learned somthing new about signs that got me started on a whole new technique. Apparently you can specify not just one crop for a field with a sign, but up to four. This means I can have a field be harvestable every single season (provided the crops are ready) with different crops. This is great, and I've been assigning multiple crops per field all over the place.
I also noticed at some point the Farm Together team must've updated the field size for signs and helpers to 18x18 from 17x17. I went around and adjusted all my helpers' fields.
I've completed the festival and gotten all 40 rewards for the 16 day period. A new one might drop next week.
About other people's farms. I'm using cross-play, and I'm pretty sure some of these mega farms are PC users (You can't get to farm level 500 in just the month since it came out on console. PC gamers have had a whole year already). A lot of them are organized in a way much like a spread sheet with just long neat rows of every type of harvestable thing seperated by fences. I find this very unimaginative, but it does make farming for favors quick and easy. I found one person's farm, though, that was the exact opposite to the hyper organized farms. It had no observable pattern to it at all and looked like a crazy maze from the map view. I kind of liked that one. Mine is similarly scattered but not that chaotic.
I'm hoping I can get the last three achievements (100 million cash, farm level 200 and 49 plots unlocked) before Borderlands 4 comes out in September. I've been enlarging fields for the final push, but how large do I need to make them?
Purchases:
Valiant Hearts: Coming Home:
Got it for $7. I never knew they did a sequel until a few months ago. I loved the first one.
The Bluecoats: North & South:
Got it for $3. It's a remaster of a 1989 Atari ST/Amiga game called North & South. It combines turn-based, RTS and FPS gameplay. It's based on a comic and has many humerous elements. The original was developed and published by Infogrames. Microids developed an iOS/Android version before doing this one for consoles.
All this together: the strategy, the humor; makes me think of Hogs of War, also published by Infogrames. I'm doubly exited to play it now. I feel I should look up other Infogrames games.
And that's a week's gaming. My other stuff: book. film, art, music is on my wordpress blog, Tomes in Time, I put up every Sunday night.
