Forgot to mention some routine stuff in yesterday's blog like purchases and youtube watches.
Purchases
Saban's Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue (both N64 and PS1 versions) - I got these after watching the show on youtube. I liked the rockin' theme song and the crazy use of practical effects, toys and kaiju/robot battles in the show. The N64 version is by Mass Media Inc. who seem to be a go to dev for ports, licensed games and work on larger games like Saints Row 2, Darksiders, Space Marine and XCOM 2. I got the PS1 version too because it features the Supertrain from the show. It's by Climax Studios, another game dev that's been around a very long time and worked on many different games like Mass Media. If nothing else, these studios have a lot of experience, so I'm somewhat confident of at least a decent experience with these games. Let's take a look at a trailer.
The Tick (Genesis) - I know this is not a great game (I think I played it way back), but I wanted something from the animated TV show I liked so much in the 90s.
I see Paul the Samurai in there. Cool.
I was a big fan of the Ben Edlund authored comics at the time as well.
Youtube Watches this Week
I watched some older Japanese hero shows that matched the time of Atari (late 70s into 80s). Attack of the Super Monsters is a collection of a few episodes of Dino War Izenborg dubbed into english. It's a mix of animation, physical effects with models and live action. The animation and live action back to back is really confusing and jarring to me and so I stopped watching it. But the man-in-a-suit T-Rex villain is kind of hilarious.
Also this 1977 show J.A.K.Q. Dengekitai which is sort of a teamup hero show proto Power Rangers.
This is a good review of the complete series.
I would say neither of these really captured my continued attention. Maybe I'll load up Starfleet again that I haven't finished yet.
Finally I dug into CES videos and watched several outlets review the show. I think I'll have to catch up with day 4 etc... next week.
That's all.

As far as underground comics go, I prefer Sam & Max over The Tick. The Tick cartoon was pretty funny but the Sam & Max one beats it out a little bit. Plus the Sam & Max games are better. :)
I think I've already told you my Power Rangers stories with my brothers, haven't I?
