I only have a few here I put on my must-play list, but I like to look at everything anyway and perhaps try something new if I can find it for cheap enough. Remasters are also of interest since sometimes they vastly improve the experience. So this is Metacritic's top PS2 games 26-50 with comments.

26. 42. SoulCalibur 2, DOA2 Hardcore - Fighting games aren't my thing, but I remember playing the first SoulCalibur on Dreamcast way back when and liking that it had a kind of story mode I could play through. It used to be available on Xbox digitally but I don't think it is now. Probably I'd have to find it at Goodwill for a buck to really try it again. I've played the DOA series once or twice.

27. 46. SSX Tricky, Tony Hawk's Underground - A strong recomendation from daftman had me looking for SSX Tricky at my game stores but I haven't found it yet. Skate or snow boarding are not generally my thing but the idea you can kind of free roam the mountain in SSX Tricky has me interested.

28. 33. 35. 41. 43. 44. 48. 49. 50. NHL 2002, ESPN NFL Football, Madden NFL 2001, NCAA Football 2003, Madden NFL 2005, World Soccer Winning Eleven 8 International, NBA Street Vol. 2, ESPN NFL 2k5, MVP Baseball 2004 - I thought I'd just lump all the major sports games together because I kind of don't play any of these unless they are done in an arcade or comic style. NBA Street is almost of interest to me in that way.

29. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time - I remember this being talked about a lot back in '03. I even played it but I never became a huge fan. I'd check it out again on the cheap though. It used to be on Xbox digitally but I don't think so anymore. The game is shown in the store but no price listed, which usually means it's not currently available.

30. 31. Final Fantasy XII, Final Fantasy X - I've dabbled in XII before but never finished it, however, it wowed me with its epic cut scenes on the PS2 back in 2006. It now has a remaster, The Zodiac Age, available digitally that I might get if there's a sale. I don't think I've ever tried X but it's also been remastered with its sequel X-2 on all consoles (both wish listed).

32. 33. Guitar Hero II, Guitar Hero - Well now. I've been hunting for old guitar controllers and found one on the cheap at Goodwill ($5) for Xbox 360 but not for PS2. They are going for surprisingly high prices ($70+) at my game stores that I'm not willing to pay. I remember being somewhat interested in these rhythm games back in 2005 when I was still playing in a band. I tried one though and found it less than interesting compared to real instruments. I always liked the freedom of improvising and these games only give you that freedom while using the whammy bar here and there. I was disapointed, but for a low price, I'd give 'em a go again because I love having gaming peripherals and they are fun for what they are.

36. Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil - The first must-play for me on this list. I have it digitally as part of the Phantasie Reverie collection but I'd love to have it physically. Unfortuneately it probably goes for a pretty penny I don't want to spend.

37. 48. Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal and Going Commando - Two more for my personal must-play list. Up Your Arsenal was the third game for the PS2, Going Commando the second. With the first one, they were bundled in a collection for the PS3 that I have but I'd like the PS2 copy for my collection eventually. I only have Going Commando at the moment.

38. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater - The last of the PS2's trilogy of MGS games and available in the Master Collection Vol. 1 digitally (already wish listed). I just saw Vol. 2 mentioned coming in August containing MGS 4, Peace Walker and Ghost Babel. If the collection goes on sale I'd try it. I've tried the series before and wasn't up for the sneakin' around gameplay but I'd give it a shot again. You know what I have been interested in though? The Metal Gear Acid games for PSP that came out soon after Snaker Eater. I wonder if they'll get a remaster?

39, Twisted Metal Black - Back in 2001, this was constantly in the gaming news. I've even played it once back then, but it's not my thing. Arena battles between friends are not too interesting to me. I like exploration, co-op missions or PVE gameplay much better.

40. 45. Shadow of the Colossus and ICO - Oh boy! So these I've played these but never finished them. They are puzzle/platformers but in large 3D environments. I like the exploration and story of these games but I was never a huge puzzle/platform game fan even if they did have great visuals. Shadow has been remastered and is on the PS4 store (wish listed) and ICO seems only available in the original or in that bundle with Shadow on PS3. I might have to pick that up if it's cheap enough (I've seen it around). I'd give them both another shot for sure even though they don't make my must-play list.

And that's all of them. I added three games to my must-play playlist for PS2 (Klonoa 2, Ratchet & Clank 2-3) making 8 in total so far out of the top 50 on MC. I also added several more to my digital wish lists on XSS and PS4 (FFXII and X and the remaster of Shadow of the Colossus).

Next time. The GBA's 26-50 on Metacritic.
