I played a little bit of Z and then tonight I'm trying Super Mario Bros Ed. . SMBE is a little simpler but basically the same. I think I'll stay with SMBE for a while before tackling Z.

The Vanilla Fudge cover has a solarized photo of what may be a nude woman, it's hard to tell with that effect on it.
I finally figured out a table solution for it so I can hook it up next to my laptop. Then, I hope, the software issue won't become an issue. I also hope my microphone jack on my laptop is a stereo one, otherwise I'll have to get an adapter. I've been told mic jacks are usually in stereo on laptops though.
I really love the design used from the Etrian Odessy games. The UI is very easy to use and attractive to boot.
That is the problem. You never realize how complex the control scheme is in these games until you leave it for a week and try and jump right back in. It took me a while to figure out how to access health potions quickly in Skyrim after being away for two weeks and I still haven't figured out how to change weapons quickly, or go from torches to weapons.
I even looked up a walkthrough and then found the hidden chest that has the level map in it and still couldn't figure out what I'd missed.
I do like the bigger screen on the XL but it is bulky for a handheld. It just barely fits in my pocket.
I always think of laptops as on a 5 year life cycle. Mine's just gone over that and I'm worried. So I'm backing up everything and probably getting a new external hard drive in case it crashes on me.
Yea, him and Latimer's guitar. I love his guitar sound even though a friend of mine thinks he's boring. I like the messured pace of his solos.
Arcade version would be neat to play!
I always get really sensitive about the combat in RPGs too. What is it with that? However, even though it's more actiony, if it's done well, I'll like it. Sounds like Witcher 3 may have simplified it's combat a little too much and made it too hack 'n' slashy for some people. I do like a good hack 'n' slash game though.
I really want to play Jagged Alliance. I think I played one of them ported to the DS. It wasn't too good though as I remember it. The PC versions I've heard are much better.
Cool. After playing Act Raiser I really like games that switch styles or combine several game types. I'll keep an eye out for this one.
