Back to the Grind

I went to King Richard's Faire back when I was in college. It was a lot fun, especially with the friends I went with. The last time I was at the Southwicke Zoo I think I was in grade school. Do they still have the Red Bat?

You have a very small child and another on the way. I could describe it to you, but I don't think you will experience any of it for a very long time...

September 2013: Tales of Xillia and Dragon's Crown

I just grabbed Tales of Xillia this evening on a whim. I was bad, I should be saving money, but sometimes ya gotta go with it. It's still sitting in plastic, where it will remain until I have at least finished Assassin's Creed 2 and (hopefully) Tomb Raider.

I'm too lazy and tired to google it. I think I vaguely remember hearing about it...

Actually, I think it was either you or Angelo Grant mentioning that so far most people weighing in on the subject on Pixlbit were guys that got me to write this, so pat yourself on the back.

New 2DS a Tough Sell for Nintendo

I'm already mentally saving my pennies for the 2DS. I have depth perception issues, so 3D is absolutely useless as far as I'm concerned. I wasn't planning to buy a current gen handheld at all, until the announcement of the 2DS. I know you can turn off the 3D effect, but why pay for something I can't use? Now I don't have to.

Yes, yes it is. I know how lucky I am. Been doing it for 26 years now.

I live in the boondocks, so things can be iffy during storms. However, the major electric company here finally got off their butt and did some serious trimming back of the trees near the power lines. Only lost power twice since I moved in December, and one of those times was a major Northeaster that dumped 30 inches of snow on us at one time.

Yeah, I kinda want a 2DS. It'll have to wait, though, as I only have another four weeks before I'm laid off for the winter. I'm hoping to find a job working for some mom and pop outfit and not a big box store like Target, which is what I did last winter. Not that Target was bad, I just don't have the mindset to work in that kind of environment. LL Bean was worse, I at least felt like Target appreciated me as an employee.

We had five, count 'em, FIVE thunderstorms between 1 AM and 7 AM. Every time one would roll through, the pets would repeat their earlier behavior and wake me up. By 6, I was ready to kill them both. And it's been very dry here, too, since June which was the 5th rainiest June on record. And we were still an inch below average rainfall as of midnight. May have made up for that last night, though.

My park isn't that big, only about 250 acres. Pretty easy to maintain, too, as we don't have a ton of equipment like my last park. I have a riding mower, a push mower, a weedwhacker, three chainsaws, and an ancient Kawasaki Mule to take care of. There isn't much mowing or weedwhacking, as we're mostly woods and hiking trails. I spend more time unclogging the three toilets than anything else!
