I tried to get a good sense of what to keep from 4 PS2 titles. Then I finished up Banner Saga 2 and got hooked some more in Kingdom: New Lands on XBO.
I went to The Franklin Institute in Philly today to see the Game Masters Exhibit. Then I ran through some more PS2 games to see if I still wanted them. Finally, I got back to Banner Saga 2, trying to get to the end of the story.
I set up my PS2 and ran through some stuff I will probably trade. I want to get those out of the way first before I try the ones I’m most excited about. Then I got back to Xbox One and Banner Saga 2.
The end of summer is almost here, so let’s have one last big summer fling with some game reviews I’ve recently written over at GamerDad.com. Please click on as many links as you can, and maybe even post a comment or like or two. I’d really appreciate it. OK, let’s begin!
So a couple of weeks ago I got a Starbucks gift card and I started using it. That lead to my other blog about the “fancy” Egg McMuffin, and a drink that I started to really like, their Cascara Foam Cold Brew. It’s nothing really special, just an ice coffee with some foam, but it is served in a sippy cup and you’re supposed to get some of the foam with the coffee in each sip. I’m one of those weirdos that likes to drink coffee without sugar or cream, but I dig this. Actually I think I just like ice coffee. Anyways after I finish here I’m seriously debating on heading out to grab one…and maybe a “fancy” Egg McMuffin.
After playing the first chapter of God of War, it's going fine. The gameplay feels super standard, but it's ... ok. Just got done fighting The Stranger. I also do not have the same problems Julian does with the small boy. Sounds like a pretty good child voice actor to me so far. Then again, maybe he repeats himself more later on. We'll see.
I finished up my week with some Dreamcast fishing games and a few short games I got off Game Pass. Here's a pic of my Dreamcast fishing games and the controller.
Well I’m excited because things like this do not happen often. I was leaving for work this morning and I saw this by the road in a box that said PS2 and Rock Band , Enjoy!
I'm still playing the Valkyria Chronicles demo. It's pretty big. I played the first mission and then a two part second mission. I'm on chapter two now, and it opens up with you at a base where you can now equip your soldiers, but also - like XCOM - you put research and development into new weapons and tank parts. Each soldier has three weapon slots and a armor slot. This is a lot different from the original game, where I don't think you could customize any of that stuff. That should be pretty fun.
Here's a picture of my Dreamcast. I plugged it in to go through some games I might want to trade. Then I got back to business on XBO.
Why is the music in the Persona games extremely good, I just finished off Persona 4 Golden a while go and P5 earlier this year.
I have to admit that I really haven’t been playing actual console/PC games other than NCAA Football in close to two weeks. I’ve been caught up in playing my little mobile games, helping the various teams/alliances I am in trying to unlock goodies or just trying to get whatever bonuses that are available in a game that really has no end. There’s something about these types of games that draw me in. Maybe it’s because they’re free…-ish. Maybe it’s working with a group, Maybe it’s not having to worry about getting my monies worth out of the game, heck maybe it’s the fact that they are fun and for a couple of minutes for each play I don’t have to worry about it. I mean it’s easy to jump into, a couple of taps on the phone or laptop and I am playing my game. Afterwards I go back to either reading, or listening to music on the same device. Easy peasy.
I played this GBA game on my DSLite on breaks before work the last two days. What a creative game.
i wasn't up to a major game today like Witcher 3 so I played some short games.
So I just got back from running errands earlier than normal because the humidity is crazy, and then you throw in the various fires there’s a hint of smoke in the air. Not a good time to be roaming around. The one positive is that I just finished my “fancy” Egg McMuffin from Starbucks, and I am listening to the latest Nikki album on Spotify. Good morning Pixlpeeps! It is Friday, I am here and let’s catch up on what has been going on.
I played a bit of it. Only the first episode so far, and I'm not sure how many are in the demo. But goddamn is this game fun. I forgot how good this shit was. I didn't like the sequel to the original (for PSP) cause it had the wrong tone. This one is great so far though. It's so nice to finally get a proper sequel to this. I'll play more soon.
My first indie wrestling show was Inspire Pro Wrestling’s Ecstasy of Gold II. I was instantly taken with it, and have since become a big fan of the Texas indie scene. There were a ton of wrestling stand-outs that night, including Athena (you probably know her as Ember Moon) and this HUGE dude with an absolutely punishing power bomb by the name of Keith Lee. He was announced as hailing from the moon. “The literal moon.” There were a lot of people that made a great impression that night, and he was definitely one of the big ones.
SPOILERS AHEAD! SPOILERS AHEAD! IF YOU SPOIL THESE 2 GAMES FOR YOURSELF ITS NOT MY FAULT! I GAVE YOU A WARNING!
